Byram Hills Schools Superintendent Jen Lamia issued a notice to parents late on Wednesday, Nov. 18 advising that there was a new COVID case at Byram Hills High School, and the students will be in quarantine through Monday, Nov. 30.
Lamia said that it appears to be an isolated case, and that the Department of Health has started contact tracing, and anyone who may have been exposed to the individual who tested positive will be notified.
According to the New York State Schools COVID-19 “Report Card,” there have been 14 confirmed cases in students in the Byram Hills School District, and two in staff members. At the high school, there have been nine confirmed cases of the virus in students.
